LiveJournal likes to remind me how long I’ve been around, if you’re reading this on my LiveJournal then you’ll have seen this twice. Sorry not sorry.

mmn: (I HAS HAT)

The recent election is what we all kind of expected, Brexit was just the test the Conservatives to see how much lying they could get away with and still manage a win. If anything the cover photo says it all, in BoJo’s riding they had a choice of a bunch of fucking clowns and a labour candidate, they went for the biggest clown they could find. 👏

Then we have the bizarre world of « I can’t really stand Corbyn, so I voted Con » lot, which in itself is counterproductive, but hey, you do you.

Either way, I’m not going to dedicate an entire post to this consortium of shit fuckery, because I’d just be repeating what everybody else has been saying and that clearly falls on deaf ears. That and some bot will probably start attacking my blog, the usual things that happen when people don’t agree with you online. 🤷‍♂️

Side note : Grammarly seems to think this post is « optimistic », I think your AI is fucked chaps.

Rentre Avec Tes Pieds (RATP)

In actual optimistic news though, other than the Great Strike of 2019 griding France to a halt, I have got an upgrade on my internet. 10GB fibre, which has been so amazing. Granted I didn’t realise you had to request a specific IP type from my provider and I panicked a little when my Freebox started to refuse to let me use certain ports. But it was pretty easy to fix, it seems like a pretty solid security patch for those who have no idea what they’re doing from causing havoc in the IP range.

Another update on the news front is that oddly enough I managed to grab I domain I didn’t expect, I was trying to register something else, but Autocorrect did its thing. I went through the checkout and setup without even clocking it.

So here I am right now the proud owner of eu.sb 🇪🇺😂 I can’t say that I’m upset about this moment, but it for once autocorrect didn’t duck something up badly.

Yesterday I finally got most of my adulting things out of the way, getting keys copied, a hair cut, followed by giving up going to the shop and ordering food online. I feel that this could have been the top point of being an adult, I have peaked everybody. Incidentally, I had a bit of a shock when I realised I’m 2 years older than I remembered. Oops.

I guess I’ll finalise this post off with a shameless ad.

bbs.yt, ec.gy, frankenserver.eu, mono.mx, uun.nz, and zigs.eu are being shared via Free DNS, a dynamic DNS domain sharing project where members can setup, and administrate their DNS entries on their own remote internet-connected systems in real-time. You can register your own subdomains at ec.je/public/freedns/default.wct.

Also, if anybody actually still reads this blog I’d be interested if you dropped a comment in the comments, I might put it on my life plan to update more often if there are still lurkers.

I am now testing that this will make it over to LiveJournal.

Literally me, right now

I have managed to do two things in the last twenty four hours that I have been wanting to do forevers.

The first being, after many years of wanting to run my own version of the LiveJournal code, I finally got my shit together to do so. Granted, since LiveJournal has since dropped off the open source circuit, it’s a Dreamwidth install. But it’s forked off LiveJournal’s code.

I have been diddling on and off with Nanoblogger for some time, if you don’t know what it is, it’s basically a blogging platform that works on Bash.

It’s unfortunately gone out of development as of 2013, but if you have the patience to work with it, I can assure you that it is actually quite flexible.

Plus you get the joy of beating something in to submission at the command line level.I’ve put my BBS website in to production using Nanoblogger which makes handling the site easier to move around since it’s all flat files, plus if I need to make a code update then I can just modify one file, push an update and we there. No databases, no script issues, just nice flat files.

One of the things I have mentioned before is that I want to bring my data in house, because you never know if a service is going to fall down, which we have seen a number of sites fall down and take a few years of work with them.

For my blogging, I’ve started to use WordPress as it was simplier to import a bulk load of old entries over, with the exception of course, being LiveJournal since the API has gone all wonky #sadface. But I’m trying to push things out on to not only my personal blogs, but dump them in another Nanoblogger install on Teleport.

One of the thing that held me back with Nanoblogger was that commenting isn’t as easy to do, but I’m not really saying I get a lot (if any) comments on my posts, but it’s nice to have around.

So this morning, I worked with Disqus on the Teleport website, turns out that was pretty easy to get going. Now I have to work out which content to drag across, I’m not really going to put it as one of my main websites, but having an archive of various things I’ve done is pretty cool. Considering that at the moment, it’s LiveJournal that holds 18 years of my internet mumblings.

I have really started to get back in to another service recently, she is called Kakao Talk, the Korean messaging service we all like to send naff emojis on.

With this new found glee at messaging, I of course have now fell back in to blissful love with the rather cool mobile based journal-cum-blog app Kakao Story, you can view mine here, but for some reason the web version is only in Korean (where as the apps are in English also).

It's pretty nifty, but it ain't LiveJournal nifty.  But then again this is like saying "it's not cheating if you use a condom", so I must accept that I have cheated on LiveJournal. #sadface

I even have created a group on Kakao Group like some kind of crazed Koreaboo looking for K-Pop on Napster (before the whole got shutdown and relauched as a pile of steaming shit).  I'm about 10% sure this link here will let you join it, if not Kakao me on id: kdwc and I can do the whole invite thing.

But of course I still use the LiveJournal without a doubt to write utter crap like this, so clearly this is my stable marriage as I go off having numerous affairs hoping one day too never be caught.  But secretly, LiveJournal knows and this is why I love her so.

I've been gleefully looking back at my posts from the past few months and noticed how sporratic they have been.  Dear LiveJournal, I have not fell out of love with you, I've just been busy and such like.

I guess I better blog about something or I can't call myself a Blogger any more.  And quite frankly, my shallow ego couldn't take that kind of brusing.

What's been up in my life as an old hat Parisien type?  Well so much of course, this is Paris after all!  For those of you that can see it, I made a post not too long ago about somethings that have been occuring, they hadn't been getting any better either.  Somewhat filled with anxiety and according to the paperwork stress visable.

Obviously I need to find a way out of this situation and of course this is where my borderline annoying LiveJournalling comes back in to fashion, much like a sleezy T Shirt you don't have the mental ability to set fire to (even though by fashion standards, you probably should).  So fuck you Jean-Paul Gautier, I'm wearing this mother fucker in the daylight.

I will write something on the downlow at some point, as I should probably capture this time in the blog that followed me grow up from back in the 2000s; as to be able to look on it fondly, like a smell in a elevator, perhaps of the fart variety.

But with the negatives come positives, as the universe is so well at dishing salty water upon a wound as it buys you a round of cocktails in some upscale hotel.  And the biggest positive of them all, happens to be feelings of the pleasant variety.

I met somebody, in a bar no less, we had a chat and exchanged numbers as is the custom in western society now days.  But where this lead I almost half expected.  We volleyed text messages for a couple hours and I received a message with an invite chez lui.  We performed the ritual of conversation by way of lip based contact, things happened of course, as nature will attest to.

But during this time we talked, spent all night together, did some more nature based things and conversed until the point that could not be stopped.  Namely the Eurostar timetable.  He had to go back to Londres.

But we seemed to have left a mark on eachother, as we're pretty much talking daily now, through the magical method of text based communications.  With these things you can never fully tell, but I'm beginning to believe perhaps some kind of emotional connection is occuring.  Yes my readers from long and a far, it appears I may have these 'feels' your cat memes express so eloquently.

Only time can really tell if this is what it is, but he's back in Paris in September and arranged a hotel of the elegant variety as to spent quite literally all day and night in.  I'm not going to lie when I say this place better have room service, but if I can't get an overpriced sandwich in my underwear, I will be absolutely livid.  #middleclassproblems

I may or may not be reading in to this correctly, but this isn't the kind of thing you sort out for some two bit booty call.  And god knows I'm of that variety.  And you know what, if it is as it seems, it gives me that kind of fuzzy feeling you get when you hit your toe on a table in the dark, then proceed to smash that table around because, GOD DAMN IT WHY ARE YOU BEING A DICK INANIMATE OBJECT?!?!?

This is how life rolls you see good and bad feels at once, my stress level is not that sure how much life shortening stress hormone it should be pumping me full of.  And you know what, at the moment I'm pretty cool with that.

Considering I can't sleep, I've started to put together the first few of my series Landlord Drama. I started it as a post tag, then I was all like "Imma let you finish, but a community is a better idea".

So I created [livejournal.com profile] wihml. Join, view and be merry.

Other than writing my almost epic post of last and a few odd mistaken/test posts, I haven't done a whole lot today.

I've learned one thing though making a post with [livejournal.com profile] ljcharm and then modifying it with the iPhone client is a bit of a bad move. It took me almost half an hour to fix it. I'd normally moan, but I ain't got anything better to get up to today!

I've also spiced up my journal theme, it needed a change after a year of the last one.

The only other thing I've done is enjoy the French diet of coffee and fags, without the fags.

Well other than the test post I just deleted, this is my first post to
Dreamwidth.

I joined it as VOX has been closed down by the greedy people at 666Apart
and I quite liked to use VOX for little bits and bobs that I couldn't
really write in my slightly public LiveJournal.

I did save everything to their crappy TypePad but I can't really see myself
using it. Too commerical, no features and a bit shite.

So, well, that's it for this post until I can think of something else to
write!
