It appears that WordPress couldn’t handle the email, so here it is (11 APR 2009):

So I have managed to figure out how to access my iMac via SSH, good times
all around. I have Alpine running on my mac and all I need to do is login
to SSH and fondle Margret Thatcher (my iMac!) nicely and it presents me with
this useable interface.

I do have one thing to mention though. Maggie is running off of a Three
Mobile Broadband connection. A rather decent one at that. I have upgraded
to 15GB/month at GBP15, Three also sent me a new USB modem which is much
better than the last, it gets betters signal and operatews up to 7.2 Mbps
but at the moment I’m at 3.6Mbps (which isn’t too bad!).

So it was worth me not having BT soil my flat with their wires and
connection charges! Woop!

I have found some glow in the dark stars and sheep as well as the two flags I obtained from last years Toronto Pride thingy whatsits as well and this is now all up in the entry place which has three doors, the main door, the flat door and the toliet door.  The door you’re looking at is the main door, behind it is the flat door.

It’s rather nice to have a space that I can do with as I wish (within reason) and this is one of my, er, creative things.  Or something.

As I was walking to my Bristol abode the police had shown up at the end of the road and were in search of some people, one officer of da law was running up the road looking for somebody. As I’m not really too bothered by the activity of the police (unless I’m running from them) I carried on, as I got nearer to my house I saw the other police lady had rounded up a group of Goths.

I knew it, goths have now been made illegal (but it might have had something to do with them breaking in to a shop in broad daylight - which one would assume is the goth equivilent of night time).

So I’ve decided to do my posts from my Newton Pad. It seems like a
sound concept as I can write to it like paper and transcribe it all back
later on to my blog.

So far today I’ve done nothing at all and it’s not good, I woke up about
1pm when I got something through the door, nothing exciting at all then
I check my email and I got a reply back from Orange, I didn’t get the
job which is a bit pants to be honest as I’m getting bored of being
unemployed. It’s crap, let alone the financial implications alone.

Right now I am watching “Sex Education vs Pornography” it’s all a bit
odd but that’s Channel 4 for you.

Anyways, I’m done with this for now so I might write something later.

My cable is being disconnected tomorrow at a grand total of 100 English
Pounds as it was an early termination of a 12 month contract as they can
not move it to the new address. However, I tried to keep my number (0117
904 2063 - hey it’s not mine anymore!) as I have delt with the SHASDA
sitatuion for as long as I’ve had that telephone number. I will miss it,
I will never know what happens to Sharon! I don’t know how I’ll live!

So it’s been some time since I have update this website. What can I say
I’ve been known to be like this occasionally, after all divertisty is the
flavour of life and all that.

I’ve been toying around recently with a couple blogs and software things
that I’ve considered replacing this wordpress blog with, such as Mobile Me and Nanoblogger. However, although both
concepts are good they aint Wordpress and it’s rather nifty intigration to
email, mobile, sms et al. So this will still remain the primary port of
call for useless crap and information on myself. Which means I have to
spend some time updating pages and the like.

But enough about this junk, recently after getting our gas and electric
bill through for 550 quid I decided that I’m not too happy with being
where I am, not because it’s a bad place, I loves it and it’s got good
parking, but it’s more of not having my own space and then having to shell
up for a shitload of gas and electric I wasn’t around to use. So I have
to cough up over a hundred quid of that and I’m not best pleased.

So I went looking for a new flat, I had a look at a rather expensive 2
bedroom at City View, it was lovely, I did the maths and I could have
possibly afforded it. Until I factored in Council Tax, Telly Licence and
all the other bills you’d expect, I could still do it, but I’d never see
the light of day again.

I then checked out another place in Clifton, it was a ground floor studio,
it was really tiny and would have cost 50 quid less than the two bed only
because it happened to be in Clifton! So I had a look at a third place
and I loved it, it’s a studio, barely any parking, but it’s only 30 quid
more a month than what I’m paying now. Granted I will have to pay council
tax, etc but the utilities will be my own spendature and it will be my own
space. But the best thing is, it’s so unbelievably central for 425!
Serious.

So now I’m just waiting back on my references and to confirm my moving in
date for the end of March, I’ll need to obtain furnature and other wordly
objects that I have no money for, but what can I say, it will be worth it.

But on a more crap note, I got paid 300 less this month than normal, so my
finances are in a bit of a shit state for the moment, but I think I’ve
managed a way out of it, so in theory this is an a-ok moment now.

Anyways, I shall post some images of the new place shortly. For now, this
is a rather longer than normal update from me! Oh and I haven’t bothered
to check the spelling etc so if it’s a bit pants leave a comment or
something and I’ll do nowt about it.

Here I am in bed at 8pm like a good boy. As you can clearly tell this is
not ideal really, I’m 25, I should be drunk oin a ditch some where or
shouting somebody elses name in the throws of passion in yet another 20
minute relationship. But instead I’m in bed, too lazy to make my dinner
so I will opt to take this as a weight loss aid and not bother with the
whole food thing. Rather depressing really.

I was also going to make a humourous witty post about my day and what
crazy antics I’ve been up to, but to summarise it: LOL then sat behind the
same desk on the same fat ass I’ve had since 2003.

I’m experiencing a moment where I realise I should be getting more out of
my life, nothing is stopping me from doing so, but I find myself dragged
down on the same level all the time and this must change. I’ve asked
myself why am I dirt poor all the time? Because, although to my horror I
make a rather sound level of salary I’m far too stupid to be able to
budget and look at where I can save money rather than piss it away on lazy
people food (takeaways) and constantly going to Sainsburys at lunch to
feed yet again. Then there is my outgoings, I’ve cut a few things now,
it’s opened more spending money (which I promptly piss away).

I’ve got a rather good concept for dealing with this and the thing is I
have to be able to hold myself to it and not just find an excuse on why
this or that spend is OK when clearly it isn’t.

This will mean I then get in to the habit of leaving the house or the
workplace and get out there living my life, meeting people, doing things
and possibly who the hell knows!

This years I’m now planning my holiday 6 months early, that’s 6 months to
cover costs and make sure I can have an enjoyable time and not find myself
booking the car hire and tickets at the last possible minute and having to
live a week before payday on 35p in another country again.

Basically, I have to grow up a bit. Which isn’t easy. But we shall try
all the same.

And the thing is. I look forward to this challenge. You can’t just
continue to use two pots after all, just buy a bigger one.
